Abstract
Jillian Marchant studied the tertiary education and community experiences of persons in Australian rural areas. She presents an account of individualised experiences in rural contexts to provide rich, detailed descriptions that are grounded in each person's narrative. Such an account complicates what is known about rural peoples and their activities.
