Abstract

[Extract] Port of Townsville Limited (PoTL) have provided James Cook University’s TropWATER team with the final proposed capital dredge footprint for the Channel Upgrade. Due to the new dredge footprint and more recent marine plant (i.e., seagrass and macroalgae) assessments conducted in October 2022 and May 2023, the information regarding marine plants within and surrounding the proposed capital dredge footprint need to be updated for application and approval processes. This report specifically updates the marine plant assessment report conducted by TropWATER in 2020 (Smith and Rasheed 2020).
