Abstract

This chapter outlines the importance of raising primary teachers' agency and confidence to teach science in the primary context. Pre-service teacher participants enrolled in a context based science course really profited and appreciated the way science was translated to everyday contexts to engage learners and they reported greater confidence and agency for science teaching.
