Abstract
Danica Lennox-Bulow investigated various aspects of the ecology of stonefish and their toxins. This work highlights that the complex and dynamic nature of stonefish toxins, which appear to be dictated by the animal’s ecology, presents a promising source of novel compounds for biodiscovery. Ultimately, this work demonstrates how an improved understanding of an organism’s ecology can be used to guide biodiscovery.
