Abstract

The aquaculture industry continues to be an important source of world aquatic food supply, covering half of the global fsheries production due to the need for more food supply and the declining stock of capture fsheries. Among the aquaculture species, groupers are known to be an economically important marine fsh in Southeast Asia. However, a variety of environmental stressors (pH, temperature, salinity) substantially affect the grouper’s production. Thus, the control of environmental parameters is vital to overcome this phenomenal problem of grouper production. This book is important in discussing the impacts of environmental stressors particularly salinity with type of diets to the growth, digestion, enzyme activities, and blood indices of grouper. This book is generally written to aid in production of this commercially important marine fish.
