Abstract

Richard Stewart studied the transition experience of Year 7 students leaving a remote Indigenous community in Cape York to access secondary education. He found the boarding transition space to be both complex and contested for students and their families. The research highlights urgent policy reform required to improve education outcomes for remote students.
