Abstract

Michael Sheridan analysed undeclared food allergens in products for sale at Asian retail stores in Melbourne, finding a large proportion of undeclared allergens and non-compliant labelling, resulting in recommendations and consultation with Government agencies. A food recall notification app tool with accompanying website, was developed, and app downloads were found to increase with media attention.
