Abstract
[Extract]: When COVID-19 saw formal schooling return, Shakespeare teaching changed. Learners were no longer in physical classrooms with peers and teachers. Students could not discover the 'ancient grudge of Romeo and Juliet; the machinations of Richard III could not be explored in person; complex discussions of race in Othello were unable to be moderated through the nuances of face-to-face conversation.
