Abstract

The premise of this chapter is that placements with external supervision can work well and offer students valuable learning experiences. The proviso is, that students, supervisors and the liaison person need to work together closely to make this a successful learning experience focused on the student's growth and considering the contextual setting (Zuchowski, 2015b). This is crucial, because in placements with external supervision there is the potential that the students get conflicting messages, for example both supervisors might have different ideas of how a student is to complete an intervention.
