Abstract
[Extract] Art practice has always been shaped by artists willing to experiment within their chosen medium in the context of the times in which they live. Historians have recognized stylistic changes throughout history but contemporary practice in the 21st century would appear to be moving rapidly towards convergence due largely to new technology and issues rather than objects and formalism driving the work.
