Abstract
The first edition of this work was reviewing the new literacies, new types of knowledge and classroom activities in the context of the massive increase in digital information technologies and communication. The enormous development of this field allowed the authors, at the time in which the first edition sold out, carry out a second edition, completely renovated and updated. This timely new version almost simultaneously published in English and Spanish, explains and comments a whole new set of activities like blogging, fanfiction, mobile and wireless communications and practices remix fan of sonic and visual themes.
Thus, in this second edition revised and updated, the book examines:
• General practice and social networks related to contemporary phenomena such as Flickr and Wikipedia.
• Blogs, podcasting and mobile and wireless communication.
• Writing activities in online communities and manga-anime fanfiction.
• Production of Anime, music and video and "memes" multimodal.
Colin Lankshear and Michele Knobel discusses how youth have embraced digital technologies and new forms of mobile communications, and integrated into their daily lives. They argue that educational institutions ignore at their own peril many of these tendencies and expose how you can effectively integrate wireless mobility school pedagogies, paying due attention to new literacies in teaching and learning. These new resources help connect the school world with the interests and everyday activities girls and boys outside the classroom.
