Abstract

[Extract] In the twenty-first-century context of an increasingly pressured, changing, and complex world, there is a disquieting recognition of the plight and struggle for survival that plants and animals endure. This sense of disquiet underpins the individual practices of artists Robyn Glade-Wright and Barbara Dover, who both engage with aesthetics in a distinctive manner for similar ethical purposes. Their aim in making art is to engender reflection about the kind of life we impose on sentient beings and the impact of human agency on the habitat of living species.
