Abstract
Kelly-Ann O'Bryan investigated children's conceptions of hope for our future world. She identified five distinct types of hope, each impacting sustainability engagement differently. Her findings suggest ways to build a type of hope that can motivate sustainability engagement in the context of sustainability education. These insights are now being applied in primary schools to engage children in addressing sustainability challenges.
