Abstract
Emily O'Hara explored the venom and ecology of the highly venomous box jellyfish Carukia barnesi (the Irukandji jellyfish), evidencing both the venom injecting organelles (nematocysts) and the venom they contain can change with life stage and environmental temperature. These findings can influence future sting and medicinal research, along with further elucidating the animal's ecology.
