Abstract
Leanne Shead applied practice-led research to creatively explore how lichen, a natural environment organism, could be incorporated as a vehicle for artistic expression. By positioning the concept of the beauty of lichen, against notions of it being perceived as a blemish, innovative contemporary art practices were employed, discussed and exhibited.
