Abstract

[Extract] We read with great interest the recent article by Hsieh et al. evaluating the association between Mediterranean diet (MED) adherence and the liver fibrosis risk among individuals with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) [1]. The authors reported that higher adherence to the alternate Mediterranean diet (aMED) is independently associated with reduced risk of liver fibrosis, especially among individuals with a greater cardiometabolic risk factor burden.
