Abstract

This thesis investigates how edaphic factors and environmental stressors influence plant acclimation in Australia. Using continental scale transects and manipulative experiments, I explore plant water use efficiency, drought response, and carbon dioxide acclimation across diverse species, highlighting the roles of deep phylogenetic divergences and recent evolutionary adaptations in shaping plant responses.
