Abstract
Tyler Gilstrom studied COPD, a lung disease from smoke inhalation. He analyzed immune responses in Australians affected by tobacco smoke and Papua New Guineans exposed to biomass smoke. He found each aetiology was related to distinct immune dysregulations, emphasizing COPD's diversity and the need for tailored treatments.
