Abstract
[Extract] The first botanical collections and pictorial representations of Livistona victoriae are connected with the activities of botanist Ferdinand Mueller and artist Thomas Baines during the North Australian Exploring Expedition, 1855–1856. In this article, we bring together the earliest specimens and artworks of the palm for the first time and outline its 140-year taxonomic history.
