Abstract

Our study addresses the importance of tourism and hospitality (T&H) for the Australian economy in the provision of tertiary education and training. A review of the Australian T&H landscape and tertiary education offers interesting education histories and trajectories parallel to economic growth patterns. Our study seeks to build capability within the T&H industry and showcase the relevance of T&H tertiary education in responding to the impact of global health issues, such as COVID-19. The findings contribute not only to the T&H industry, but also have parity with retail, service, and leisure industries globally.
