Abstract
[Extract] Members of this superfamily are monostome digeneans occurring in the digestive tract and associated organs, the respiratory tract and tissue sites in teleosts, chelonians, iguanid lizards, birds and mammals. All lack a typical pharynx (although a muscular thickening may be present in the oesophagus) and most possess eggs with one or more long filaments at each pole. A head-collar and/or longitudinal rows of papillae on the ventral surface are common, but not universal, features.
