Abstract
Children are a significant growing market for the tourism industry to be targeted, as they are active and influential members in the family structure. In childhood, loyalty is assumed to be shaped stronger if children receive the proper services based on their motivations and needs. This study aims to investigate the less positive experiences of families with young children under 12, traveled to Singapore as one of the famous Asian destinations in order to reveal the constraints of travel for families with children. Orchestra Model of Tourism Experience formed the study. Less positive comments of 105 families on six different tourism-related activities are the basis for the detailed coding and analysis. The results suggest that the cognitive and relationship level of experience are highlighted by the parents that result in sadness and anger at the affective level. The main constraints for families’ satisfaction are move in time and space, safety and quality services, kid-friendly staff, amenities for children, interactive and learning opportunities. In addition, the results show that families’ loyalty to a place is influenced directly by their satisfaction with the services provided to their children.
