Abstract
[Extract] The Great Barrier Reef is the second edition (first edition 2008) of an edited collection of 32 chapters written by 48 leading coastal and marine experts whose biographies are listed (2019: xiii–xxii). Two additional chapters are included in the second edition, one on mesophotic reefs (Chapter 7) and another on fisheries (Chapter 10). There is an epilogue and acknowledgements section and an extensive index.
