Novel approach for the classification of habitats in tropical estuaries exposed to urban and industrial development.
PhD thesis, James Cook University.
Abstract
Claudia Trave developed a method to characterise habitat complexity in urbanised coastal wetlands. She found that increased structural complexity strongly influences species presence, and that ensuring soft-sediment and vegetation along constructions can assist in preserving local species. Her method and findings are being applied to ecosystem-based management for coastal development.
