Abstract

This chapter will consider the following key challenges for coaching and mentoring in Asia Pacific:

Challenge 1: the increased demand for coaches and mentors in Asia Pacific as a result of the talent dynamics and leadership needs in this region.

Challenge 2: the necessity for cross-cultural coaching and mentoring competence due to the cultural diversity in the Asia Pacific region.

Challenge 3: the need to build a coaching and mentoring culture in organisations with the rise of millennials in the workforce.

Challenge 4: the need for more empirical research on coaching and mentoring in the Asia Pacific region to be conducted to provide evidence base for addressing the challenges outlined.
