Abstract

Croydon is a small town in Queensland's Gulf Country which relies on tourism for much of its income. One of the attractions is the Croydon Shire Council's heritage machinery collection, which is used to interpret the many heritage gold mining sites in the surrounding goldfield. This report assesses the significance of the collection, which involves researching the history of the heritage machinery and the sites from which it came.
