Abstract

Dielectric resonators have been widely used for microwave characterisation of HTS films. Accuracy of the surface resistance of the films is determined by errors in measurements of the Q-factor of the resonator. In this paper a procedure to extract accurate values of the Q-factor and of the resonant frequency from a set of S21coefficients measured around the resonance for YBa2Cu3O7films is presented.
