Abstract
The Field Notes section of the Journal of Ecotourism (ISSN 1747-7638) was co-founded by Dr Peter Wood (James Cook University, Australia) and Dr David A. Fennell (Brock University, Canada) in 2012.
Field Note editors are Dr Peter Wood and Dr Lisa M. King (Curtin Sarawak Research Institute, Malaysia)
These case studies report on what is happening in best-practice ecotourism field operations across the globe. Field Notes' focus is how the field operator (e.g. tour operator, NGO, community group, individual, policy maker, decision maker) sees their world. Field Notes seek to report local/personal philosophies, feelings, perceptions, perspectives and challenges. They present a profound picture of the world of ecotourism field operators across the globe, cultures, values, and motivations in regard to best-practice ecotourism.
