Abstract
[Extract] Plush is a word that evokes the emotions, there is a sense of the luxurious and pleasurable. The word’s French origins are firmly grounded within the textile narrative. This connotation leads us into the exhibition produced by PLUSH! & Pat Jones, a creative collaboration between three textile artists: Virginia Harrison, Christina Turner & Pat Jones. Creation to Collection2013 showcases woven fabrics including a series of scarves, wraps, bags and wearable art pieces. All of the fabrics are designed, hand-dyed and hand-woven utilising Australian merino wool, with the addition of luxury yarns such as silk.
