Abstract

Screen Culture is a weblog authored by Mitch Goodwin. The website is focussed on disseminating information regarding video production, photography and new media art as it pertains to techniques developed for the screen. It is also a location where Goodwin's thoughts on higher education, internet theory, broadcast media policy and the broader machinations of popular culture are explored on a regular basis.

Research Background In conjunction with Goodwin's research into popular culture and digital aesthetics (see: http://darkeuphoria.info) and his directorship of the Screengrab New Media Arts Award and associated exhibition (see: http://screengrab.info) his related observations and collected thoughts on media, digital art and screen based aesthetics is archived on the Screen Culture website.
Research Contribution Through the collection of external data and the curatorship of links and edited commentary from the web community Goodwin has distilled a broad collection of observations and resources pertaining to a variety of fields including higher education studies, internet theory, broadcast media policy and the broader machinations of popular culture.
