Abstract
[Extract] Visitors to Perth, most frequently arriving by air, will as likely as not descend from a cloudless sky, to be confronted with a horizon-tilting view of a rather small modern city. A neatly contained, well-defined Central Business District is circumscribed by the Swan River- lake-wide at the city's edge but serpentine in its meandering to the ocean.
