Abstract
This paper will describe an innovative practice based education (PBE) model that exemplifies the benefits of cross -disciplinary collaboration and the creative use of established relationships with Universities outside of Australia. In summary the PBE project, currently being implemented, specifically aims to further develop an existing relationship with a University in Thailand in a reciprocal manner that offers social work and human services students at JCU a significant work-integrated-learning experience through participation in international community development projects, and to have that experience academically acknowledged and rewarded.
