Abstract
How is it that we are so seduced by the scientific method and fail to find the flaws in our "scientific reasoning"? This paper is a critique of the scientific method as it is used in a set of studies that set out to prove that biology is destiny. The shortcomings of the scientific method as it is used in this set of studies are analysed in terms of Kagan's critique in Three Seductive Ideas (1998) and in light of recent poststructuralist research on gender.
