Abstract

Goal driven Requirements Analysis captures the stakeholder’s expectations thoroughly and analyzes the requirements in a more comprehensive manner. The goal driven approaches have been popular in the last decade and hence incorporating them in web requirements engineering becomes crucial. Web applications have specific functional and non-functional requirements that have to be addressed owing to their worldwide presence and heterogeneous audience. In this paper, the Web specific Functional and Non-functional Requirements have been classified and defined. For including goal driven analysis as a core concept of Web requirements engineering, we propose Web specific User Requirements Notation (WebURN), an enhancement of User Requirements Notation for Web specific functional and non-functional requirements, which is driven by goals and softgoals. WebURN notation covers both goal analysis and scenario modeling. A framework has been proposed in this paper that acquires the web specific requirements and creates WebURN requirements models for detailed analysis. A tool has been developed to automate the process and also validate the diagrams created by the requirements engineer.
