Abstract

Michelle Cooper investigated the first detailed study of sediment sources, transport and deposition within turbid Lake Dalrymple, a large reservoir on the Burdekin River. Findings provide a detailed environmental baseline, improving understanding of minerogenic turbidity, sediment behaviour, and deposition. Study insights inform reservoir management, particularly for tropical/subtropical regions, and guide future dam construction and operation, including the planned Burdekin Falls Dam expansion.
