Abstract

[Extract] On 6 September 2022, the Journal of the History of International Law organised an online symposium to celebrate the publication of Martti Koskenniemi’s To the Uttermost Parts of the Earth. Legal Imagination and International Power, 1300–1870 (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2021). We asked three esteemed commentators, Koen Stapelbroek (James Cook University), Jennifer Pitts (University of Chicago) and Wim Decock (UCLouvain) to provide their perspectives on three central themes of the book. These comments constitute this issue’s book review section.
