Abstract

[Extract] Renal colic is a leading urological presentation in Emergency Departments (EDs) globally, with studies showing high prevalence (e.g., 27.9 per 1000 presentations at Hamad General Hospital ED in 2012–2013) [1]. Patients experience severe pain, often requiring close monitoring and immediate intervention, leading to significant hospital resource utilisation. Identifying correlations between presentations, seasons, and management patterns will optimise health service preparedness and patient outcomes. Such epidemiological data are crucial for developing public health information on kidney stone prevention and for effectively translating existing knowledge and guidelines [2].
