Abstract

The trend noted in the conclusion by Agarwal et al. that changes in bone mineral density (BMD) correlate well with prognosis, similar to that of ascites and modified end-stage liver disease (MELD) score confirms what we have observed in our practice [1]. Rose et al. went further in interpreting the body composition findings and its relationship to cirrhosis, noting the need for understanding the complex interactions between bone health, body composition (BC) and frailty pathways as imperative for improving outcomes in cirrhotic patients [2]. This also concurs with our thoughts and day-to-day practices.
