Abstract
Shamanism refers to a spiritual practice involving a practitioner interacting with the natural and spiritual world to help others heal and connect with nature.
This entry investigates how heroism interacts with shamanism. There is no shortage of information about heroism, nor about shamanism. But in the context of shamanic practices globally, the idea of heroism is cross fertilized by multiple vectors. These specifically span space and time, and include culture, gender, ethnicity, religion, society, and language.
