Abstract
A proportion of patients diagnosed with a non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) present with, or develop, regional metastasis, most frequently in the head and neck region. Optimal management of NMSC with metastatic regional disease involves surgery and adjuvant radiotherapy (RT). Elective nodal RT may occasionally be considered in select cases with a high-risk primary character. The addition of chemotherapy to RT in locoregionally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) of the head and neck region has demonstrated no survival benefit in randomised studies. Adjuvant immunotherapy after surgery and RT remains an area of active investigation with multiple ongoing trials.
