Abstract
[Extract] When undertaking research, it is often not feasible to investigate every individual in the target population because of practical limitations, including cost and time. Hence, sampling techniques allow researchers to acquire data about the population under investigation by gathering information from a sample, which is a subset of the study population. This editorial offers insights into obtaining a representative sample for nurse researchers; however, it is arguably relevant to all health researchers.
