Abstract
[Extract] Background and Aim: Liver cirrhosis is a common health problem marked by high morbidity and mortality and a severe impact on quality of life. It is a growing public health problem in Australia due to increases in alcohol consumption and rates of obesity and viral hepatitis. For patients to engage in long-term management of decompensated liver disease, an adequate understanding of their condition is essential. This is particularly challenging among patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis, who require complex medical care and have frequently changing medication and lifestyle factors.
