Abstract

Children as a market segment attracted tourism researchers' attention in the past decade. In this working paper, the focus is on the use of humour in designing tourism interpretation for children. The study involves interviews with Iranian tour operators and tour guides, exploring their perspectives on the use of humour during children's on-site experiences. By capturing the views of these industry players, the study provides insights into challenges and outcomes when using humour to co-create memorable experiences for children. The paper discusses the initial theorical contributions and practical implications of the study.
