Abstract
[Extract] Dear Editor
In the context of migration medicine, the introduction of a commercially available point-of-care (POC) rapid diagnostic test for schistosomiasis (Rapid Medical Diagnostics, Pretoria, South Africa) based on the detection of the parasite's ‘circulating cathodic antigen' (CCA) in urine has enlarged the diagnostic possibilities by an easy-to-use diagnostic screening tool for refugees and migrants from schistosomiasis endemic regions.
