Abstract
Marc Chao investigated how learning in multiple contexts affects behaviour. He found that conducting extinction-in-multiple-contexts is efficacious across rodent and human studies. He also found the generalisation mechanism to be responsible for diminishing the effectiveness of conducting extinction in multiple contexts when original learning was also acquired across multiple contexts. His results help therapists plan exposure sessions for people with trauma acquired across multiple settings.
