In danger? Climate crisis frames in polycentric World Heritage governance & the critical case of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Abstract
Lucy Holmes McHugh studied how climate crisis and emergency framing affects governance of the Great Barrier Reef. She found that crisis framing (such as a World Heritage In-Danger listing) can lead to multiple policy responses and is contentious because of its perceived effects across scales and sectors. Policymakers are using her results to better navigate the opportunities and pitfalls of climate crisis frames.
