Abstract
Childbirth is normally a positive and empowering experience that gives women a sense of pride and transformation. It is through a positive birth experience that women feel confident about transitioning into motherhood.1 Birth experience, however, is subjective, and may be impacted by a variety of factors.2 The current global pandemic has altered the provision of maternity services, birth outcomes, and women's experiences of birth. COVID-19 has affected different aspects of birthing practice, choice of birth setting, mode of birth, pain management, and presence of a support person at birth. In response to the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation, the health guidelines and the practice of care providers have been radically changed.
