Abstract

In November 2017, North Queensland Bulk Ports implemented an ambient marine water quality monitoring program surrounding the Port of Abbot Point. The objective of the program is to collect a long term water quality dataset to characterise marine water quality conditions within the Abbot Point region, and to support future planned Port activities. This document reports on data collected from July 2020 to July 2021. Particulate nitrogen concentrations and CHLa exceeded the guidelines throughout most of the monitoring period. TSS was generally below guidelines, along with particulate phosphorus.
