Abstract
Humour studies in tourism and their benefits for tourists have gained attention in the past decade; however, the topic warrants further investigation in the context of children as tourists. As the literature review suggests, the attention-grabbing function of humour and its capability to enhance children’s learning has remained rather unexplored in tourism. This working paper employs the concept of humour as a beneficial pedagogical tool and interpretation, an educational tool in tourism settings to highlight the research gaps in this area and provide implications.
