Abstract
This paper describes the design of a low cost landmine detector, which uses a wide range of frequencies in order both detect and identify small metal objects present in most landmines. The optimisation of a detector coil configuration is presented. A computer fitted with a soundcard is used for the signal generation and detection, providing sophisticated signal processing power at a low cost.
